BMW X5 (E53) 3.0 ECU fault. Common problem causing engine start failure. This BMW X5 3.0D engine ECU is a very common problem causing complete non start of the engine, normally the fault will begin as intermittent with the engine not starting every now and again. Sometimes cycling the ignition on and off will correct the problem temporarily.
Here we come to look at this BMW X5 3.0 Dthe battery was already replaced by a previous mechanic before we arrived. A0B4- CAS: Engine start, starter operation. Terminal 50 to CAS. Last night, the car attempted to turn over, then on the second try the vehicle wont turn or make any noise. Same results each try. I verified the volts from the battery: 12.3v+ and I had the battery examined at a local auto-shop. The battery tests out good though its 3 years old.

That's the fuse carrier in the E-Box that has five fuses in it (F01 through F05 -- four 30A fuses and one 20A fuse). Unplug the carrier and then slide off the top to get access to the fuses.

Hi, yes, you can only chk with the car is down and does not start.yes chk the wake up line 15. This line goes from the batt via the ibs all the way to the front fuse box. For my case, we just put a resistor to bring the voltage down on shut down. The problem is that this line bring awake also discharges my batt. Quote:
